We are seeking a motivated and talented Structural Engineer to join our team and provide structural engineering expertise in support of a variety of infrastructure and transportation projects.
In this position, you will:
- Design and deliver structural engineering solutions for a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects of varying size, complexity, and delivery methods.
- Perform structural analysis and engineering design for bridges, transportation facilities, retaining walls, culverts, and other structural systems.
- Prepare structural calculations, construction documents, technical reports, structural assessments, and feasibility studies.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with applicable codes, client requirements, and company Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards.
- Utilize industry-standard structural analysis and design software to produce accurate, high-quality engineering documents.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to entry-level and junior engineers, fostering professional growth and technical development.
- Plan, organize, and direct project activities, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and technical excellence.
- Participate in client meetings, prepare technical presentations, and support proposal development and business development initiatives, as needed.
- Exercise sound engineering judgment to resolve complex design challenges and provide innovative, practical solutions.
- Work both independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative, in a fast-paced, team environment.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in civil and transportation structural engineering.
- Current Illinois Structural Engineer (S.E.) license required.
- Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Demonstrated experience designing transportation infrastructure, including bridges and other structural systems, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local design standards.
- Proficiency with MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer; experience with additional structural analysis and design software is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IDOT, and applicable building and transportation design codes and standards.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while fostering collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and project management capabilities.
- Ability to work in the office five (5) days per week.

Starting salary range is $150,000 - $170,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
