Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical wiring and equipment.
- Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Install and connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, or other components.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as architects, engineers, and framers to ensure electrical systems are integrated properly into the overall building structure.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while working on electrical systems.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or relevant vocational training in electrical work.
- Valid electrician's license or certification.
- Proven experience as an electrician in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment common to the trade.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects.
Note: Experience in frame carpentry or as a maintenance person is a plus.
