Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Marine Control4 AV / IT Technician to commission, configure, troubleshoot, and support the integrated Control4 automation systems installed aboard yachts. This position is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of onboard entertainment, networking, surveillance, communications, and smart vessel technologies during commissioning, warranty service, customer upgrades, and field support.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Control4 programming and deployment, enterprise networking, and luxury yacht AV systems while providing exceptional customer service to owners, captains, dealers, and service partners

Responsibilities
· Commission and configure complete Control4 automation systems aboard new Ocean Alexander yachts.

· Program and customize Control4 user interfaces, room configurations, scenes, schedules, and automation events.

· Configure and maintain Control4 Controllers (CA-1, CORE Series, EA Series, and associated hardware).

· Install and configure Control4 touchscreens, remote controls, keypads, and mobile applications.

· Integrate and troubleshoot:

o Audio distribution systems

o Video matrix switching

o Smart televisions

o Apple TV

o DirecTV and satellite receivers

o Streaming media devices

o Multi-zone audio systems

· Configure Control4 integration with:

o Lighting control

o Shades and blinds

o HVAC interfaces

o Door stations and intercoms

o IP camera systems

o Security systems

o Access control

· Configure enterprise yacht networks utilizing:

o Pakedge networking equipment

o Araknis switches and wireless access points

o Luxul networking equipment

o Peplink routers

o Starlink Maritime

· Configure wired and wireless networks including:

o VLANs

o DHCP

o Static IP addressing

o VPN remote access

o Port forwarding

o Remote management

· Diagnose network latency, wireless coverage, multicast, HDMI over IP, and streaming performance issues.

· Perform Control4 Composer Pro programming, firmware updates, and system backups.

· Coordinate commissioning with electrical, navigation, and vessel systems teams.

· Train owners, captains, and crew on operation of the onboard Control4 system.

· Provide remote technical support and onboard warranty service.

· Prepare detailed service reports, commissioning documentation, network diagrams, and equipment inventories.

· Maintain current knowledge of Control4 software releases and supported third-party integrations.

Required Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years of Control4 installation and programming experience.

· Proficiency with Control4 Composer Pro.

· Strong understanding of residential or marine automation systems.

· Experience configuring Pakedge, Araknis, Luxul, or similar managed networking equipment.

· Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and Wi-Fi optimization.

· Experience with HDMI distribution, AV receivers, video matrices, and multi-room audio.

· Familiarity with Apple products and streaming media platforms.

· Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

· Strong customer service and communication abilities.

· Valid driver’s license and passport.

· Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

· Control4 Certified Technician or Control4 Certified Programmer.

· Snap One Partner certification.

· Experience with Triad Audio systems.

· Experience with Binary MoIP video distribution.

· Experience with Luma surveillance systems.

· Experience with OvrC remote management.

· Marine industry experience or yacht commissioning experience.

· ABYC electrical knowledge.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift 50 pounds.

· Work aboard vessels in confined spaces and elevated locations.

· Climb ladders and access equipment lockers.

· Travel frequently to marinas, shipyards, dealers, and customer vessels.
