Job Description: CAD/BIM Drafter & Modeler
D N B Infrastructure, Inc (formerly R N R Construction, Inc)
About Us
Founded in 2007, we are a fast-paced civil and structural infrastructure design and construction firm specializing in bridge projects, but our expertise extends to all types and sizes of earthwork, steel, and concrete infrastructure work. Our advance digital workflows allow us to provide comprehensive solutions to our clients in both bid-build and design build projects.
Our engineering and drafting team operates under the principle of maintaining a single, reliable “source of truth.” While we leverage multiple Autodesk modeling and drafting platforms, our workflows are centered on creating interconnected, data-rich models grounded in actual structural geometry and standard construction practices. By harnessing the strengths of each software, we integrate all construction disciplines within the Autodesk Revit environment—producing a unified model that enables effective clash detection and interdisciplinary coordination across the entire project scope.
The result of this drafting and modeling philosophy is a powerful digital prototype of the construction—developed well before work begins in the field. This proactive approach has enabled our firm to significantly reduce RFIs (Requests for Information) during construction, thereby promoting a faster, safer, and more streamlined project delivery.
Because our workflows are grounded in real-world construction practices, our output models consistently achieve a Level of Detail (LOD) of 350 or higher. This high level of detail enables us to 3D print precise structural models for both conceptual visualization and construction sequencing. What began with a single Creality Ender 3 has grown into a dedicated 3D printing lab equipped with printers of various types and sizes—allowing us to produce accurate, tangible representations of complex infrastructure designs.
Position Overview
We are seeking motivated and dynamic CAD/BIM Drafters to join our innovative team. The ideal candidates will have experience interpreting civil infrastructure plans, proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, and a foundational understanding of 3D modeling software—whether Autodesk Revit, Inventor, or other transferable platforms such as SolidWorks, SketchUp, or Rhino.
We’re looking for individuals who are driven, curious, and eager to push the boundaries of existing modeling workflows. Candidates should thrive in a constantly evolving environment—one where we continuously refine our processes, adopt new technologies, and innovate in the creation of accurate, data-rich 3D models that reflect real-world construction practices.

Qualifications
Why Join Us?
At our firm, we deliver drawing and modeling services followed immediately by our own construction of those drawings. This is non-existent in the infrastructure industry. Our in-house modeling and visualization capabilities are becoming iconic, and foundational to delivering projects in a workflow that did not exist a few years ago and does not exist in the marketplace. Join an Infrastructure Design and construction Team that is a decade into some of the most cutting-edge Modeling, 3D Drafting, and 3D printing, disrupting at its core an Infrastructure Design and Construction Industry, dislocating its static in the 2D “Plan”, “Elevation” and “Section” views of the 19th Century.
Compensation ?
This firm offers some of the best compensation and benefits in the engineering and construction industry. Located in Sacramento, CA, a wonderful Northern CA location just a hop away from Tahoe, Napa, the Sierras and the Bay Area, we require the entire team on location every day.
