An Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing electrical and electronic systems and validating them for safety, performance, and efficiency. This role supports the design, analysis, testing, and integration of high-reliability aerospace electrical and power systems, including power distribution, conditioning, and battery interfaces, from concept through production.
Responsibilities:
- Write reports; design, lay out, develop, and test electronic systems, components, or Class III printed circuit boards for use within aerospace products and systems
- Develop functional specifications, system architecture, detailed designs, schematics, and PCBs (Class III)
- Design, analyze, and support power systems, including power distribution, power conditioning, and battery interfaces
- Perform power budgeting, load analysis, and efficiency trade studies across mission phases
- Develop and validate DC power architectures, including grounding, fault protection, and redundancy strategies
- Support lithium-ion battery system integration, including charge/discharge profiles and protection circuitry
- Conduct worst-case, derating, and thermal analyses for power electronics and high-reliability aerospace hardware
- Support EMI/EMC compliance related to power conversion, switching regulators, and high-current paths
- Support assigned electrical engineering efforts across the product lifecycle, from concept development through design, testing, and transition to production
- Develop engineering estimates and technical inputs to support project planning and decision-making
- Compile and analyze data regarding existing and proposed electrical engineering designs and technical studies
- Prepare and maintain engineering specifications, interface control documents, and design artifacts supporting power systems
- Write engineering documentation to meet customer and contractual requirements, including Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support system integration
- Ensure designs and analyses comply with applicable specifications, codes, and customer requirements through engineering review, analysis, and verification activities
- Collaborate with the engineering team by sharing technical knowledge, providing informal guidance to junior engineers, and reporting technical progress to management
- Other duties as assigned.
