Job Summary:
We are seeking to hire a Oracle Database Engineer to join our Oracle database team. Some of the technologies you will work with include Oracle 11g - 26ai, Exadata, multi-tenant databases, Oracle Encryption, RAC, Golden Gate, Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure and more. DataStrike is a data management company for many clients. Our engineers have the ability to work with many technologies while growing and learning along the way.
Responsibilities:
- Management of large databases on Oracle; on-prem, cloud, or hybrid - including installation, design, configuration, backup & recovery, performance analysis, tuning, capacity planning/forecast and security.
- Review Oracle SQL query, DDL, DML including stored procedure, packages before deployment.
- Collaborate with clients in troubleshooting database and application errors.
- Actively monitor the database environment to ensure optimal performance and to prevent production issues.
- Administration of ASM and Grid Infrastructure for RAC, Oracle Restart, Clusterware.
- Setup, configuration, troubleshooting Data-Guard Physical/logical and Active Data Guard.
- Installation, configuration, deployment, and management of Golden Gate.
- Backup and recovery and migration using RMAN, datapump and export/import.
- Proactively monitor and optimize system performance using tuning, optimization, AWR, ASH, and other methods.
- Provide support for database/application deployments.
- Document new processes and procedures for all client environments.
- Provide training and mentorship in all Oracle Database Engineering facets to the Database Operations Team.
- Must be a team player with excellent collaboration and people skills to be able to engage in productive group discussions.
- Ability to interface with clients at all levels with great end-user support skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication along with the ability to articulate technical solutions for various levels of management and technical staff.
- On-Call Support on a rotational basis - including Off-Hours and Weekends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Oracle Database Engineer with 8+ years’ experience in a mission critical production database environment, including:
- Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c, 21c, and 26ai
- Oracle Exadata
- Real Application Cluster (RAC), Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Clusterware.
- Oracle Multi-tenant architecture e.g. container and pluggable database.
- Strong Unix scripting and automation skills (6+ years)
- Oracle Grid, OMS Administration
- Recovery Manager (RMAN) database backup, recovery and cloning
- Dataguard Active/Passive, Physical/Logical.
- Oracle Golden Gate
- Performance tuning, troubleshooting including SQL Tuning
- Installs, upgrades, patching including Bundle Patches
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
- Relevant Oracle certifications or working knowledge of Snowflake or Databricks are a plus.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
