Position Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes for oil and gas equipment and fabricated components. The role focuses on improving manufacturability, ensuring compliance with ASME and industry standards, and supporting design-to-production workflows using CADD and fabrication best practices. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and ensure safe, quality-focused manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes for oil and gas and heavy fabrication components to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.

Collaborate with design engineers to review drawings and models using CADD to ensure manufacturability and adherence to ASME codes and company standards.

Create and maintain work instructions, process flows, tooling specifications, and control plans for production lines and fabrication shops.

Lead process validation, first-piece approvals, and root-cause analysis for production issues; implement corrective actions and preventive measures.

Support equipment selection, layout, and installation; define fixturing, tooling, and gauging requirements to meet production and quality targets.

Partner with quality, procurement, and shop floor teams to ensure materials, welding, and fabrication practices meet ASME and project specifications.

Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma) to reduce waste, shorten cycle times, and lower production costs.

Train production staff and contractors on processes, safety practices, and inspection criteria to ensure consistent execution and compliance.

Manage production trials, pilot runs, and scale-up activities for new products and engineered assemblies.

Prepare engineering change requests, technical reports, and documentation required for regulatory compliance and customer audits.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in oil and gas equipment, pressure-containing components, or heavy fabrication environments.

Proficiency with CADD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) for interpreting and reviewing fabrication drawings and models.

Strong knowledge of ASME codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section VIII, B31.3) and experience applying them to design and fabrication processes.

Hands-on experience with welding, machining, forming, and assembly processes used in heavy fabrication shops.

Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement tools.

Solid understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, inspection methods, and quality control practices.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills; ability to work cross-functionally and mentor production personnel.

Willingness to work in a shop-floor environment and participate in field support or site commissioning as required.
