As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for conceptualizing unique lifting system solutions and creating mechanical product design drawings and technical illustrations using Computer Aided Design and Detailing (CADD) software, ensuring that designs meet customer specifications and are in accordance with codes, regulations and best engineering practices.

Role & Responsibilities:

Sets up components, links blocks, and add tags to SolidWorks Electrical database.

Creates electrical and control system drawings and schematics, showing product details, dimensions and structures and includes parts lists and assembly procedures using CADD software.

Selects appropriate electrical components, creates bills of materials and archives drawings in accordance with application requirements, procedures and best practices.
- Develops electrical and control system drawings and schematics for Pflow’s product line, manuals and service bulletins.
- Ensures that all drawings and schematics are detailed, accurate, complete and in accordance with customer requirements, codes, regulations and company procedures.

Delivers all electrical and control system drawings and schematics according to schedules and deadlines set by customers and Engineering Department Management.

Converts verbal and written information into electrical and control system drawings and schematics.

Provides internal support and knowledge to Field Service, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Sales and Project Management.

Contributes innovative ideas, skills and work product as part of a small project group and as an individual.

Participates in and implements improvements and makes suggestions for cost controls.

Utilizes CADD, Product Data Management (PDM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software as a routine course of business and demonstrates a willingness and ability for continued learning and skills advancement.

Analyzes customer, electrical and regulatory requirements to develop practical, effective and complete electrical solutions for vertical lifting equipment.

Responds to customer request regarding a particular product or design when requested.

Assists with lab prototype testing and set-up including wiring, PLC/VFD testing when requested.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant field.

Basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering or equivalent derived from a combination of relevant education and work experience.

2+ years of work experience in fabrication, heavy equipment or related manufacturing industry with some work developing engineering drawings, schematics and applying engineering principles.

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical components and a good electrical/mechanical aptitude.

Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Industrial Controls and Devices and Servo controllers.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic power systems (pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, servo-hydraulics, etc.).

Working knowledge of CADD software.
- Ability to develop proficiency with PDM and ERP software.

Ability to convert verbal and written information into two-dimensional drawings and schematics.

Computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) proficiently.
