We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Loan Processing Assistant to join our dynamic financial services team. Responsibilities

• Assist with the collection, review, and organization of loan documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy in accordance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and other regulatory standards.
• Support loan officers by preparing initial loan packages, verifying borrower information, and conducting basic credit analysis to assess financial viability.
• Coordinate with underwriting teams to facilitate the approval process, ensuring all necessary documentation meets TILA (Truth in Lending Act), Fair Housing regulations, and other legal requirements.
• Manage loan processing tasks such as calculating escrow amounts, reviewing contracts, and performing basic math calculations for loan figures.
• Maintain detailed records of all loan activities, including inbound and outbound correspondence, application statuses, and compliance documentation.
• Assist in mortgage servicing activities by tracking payment schedules, escrow accounts, and ensuring adherence to banking standards.
• Use 10-key typing skills to input data swiftly and accurately into loan processing systems while maintaining confidentiality.

Experience

• Prior experience in loan officer roles or mortgage processing is highly desirable; familiarity with loan origination processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of FNMA guidelines, underwriting procedures, and mortgage servicing practices is preferred.
• Experience working within financial services or banking environments helps ensure a smooth transition into this role.
• Strong understanding of credit analysis principles and basic math skills are essential for evaluating borrower information effectively.
• Familiarity with TILA regulations, escrow procedures, contracts review, and fair housing laws will support compliance efforts.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting is crucial.
