The Registered Nurse provides over-site/supervises: clients, supervisor, admin asst, caregivers for in-home skilled nursing care to medically fragile clients with medical needs which may include: tracheotomy, feeding tubes, seizure management, and medication administration, dementia, ROM. Skills training provided upon hire. Our agency is looking for a Registered Nurse to support our agency and the staff.
The Nurse will be working with the other Nurses and DON in the agency to keep up with scheduling assessments, reassessments, delegations as needed, as well as client intakes and determining if clients are stable or predictable. The RN is responsible to attend Management, Quality, Nursing Meetings monthly.
Some of the duties include: assessments, reassessments, delegation, filling medisets, teaching clients and staff, policies, procedures, creating agenda, leading meetings. Weekly Admin Huddles, coaching, counseling, documentation, scheduling: Admin Staff, Interviewing, Problem solving, etc.
Working with physician offices, Case Managers, hospitals, rehabs, State Of Oregon, and other assigned duties.
Demonstrates strong leadership, organizational and communication skills
Two years of professional experience, preferably in a health care field with leadership experience.
Undergraduate degree nursing (Associates) or Bachelors, one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (or willing to learn)
Work independently in client homes within the scope of nursing practice when needed
Provide high-quality nursing education focused on compassionate family-centered care and being a Team Player with the Admin Staff
Apply professional knowledge and skills to facilitate optimal client health (which includes strong boundaries)
Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
Complete client assessments and implement physician orders
Use clinical judgment and critical thinking skills in emergency situations-guidance to caregivers and staff
Accurately document all nursing care activities including client outcomes timely
Share your nursing skills by precept caregivers and others new to home care nursing
Delegations for employees, medication f/u with clients including medication sets
Follow-up on incident, and concern reports, inspections
Updating policy and procedures as needed
Assessment and reassessments for clients
Training staff on equipment or procedure/process
Clinical quarterly audit on files and supervisor visits to clients homes
Medication training/education/delegation for staff
Assistance with State survey as pertains to Nursing, Training, Administration
Taking ill calls from Administration Staff, communicating to the Admin Team
Coordinates human resources activities, such as recruiting, hiring, retaining employees; promoting Process Improvement; building relationships; compensation plans, employee benefits, and staff training.
Manages oversite of human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, resolving problems; implementing change
Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements
Studies existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the Agency’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters, communicating and enforcing organization values, and growing the company
Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of Agency wage and salary program
Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation of employment
Maintains Agency personnel files according to Agency policies
Works directly with Agency management to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the Agency
Submits paperwork in a timely manner per Agency policy to maintain Agency compliance
Documents activities legibly and accurately on required Agency records
Maintains clean and neat work environment
Demonstrates a positive and professional manner according to Agency policy
Addresses and treats co-workers respectfully to maintain a professional work environment
Appearance and attire is appropriate (scrubs preferred) and adheres to Agency policies and procedures
Accepts assignments willingly and performs other duties as assigned
Maintains acceptable attendance status, per Agency policy
Attends mandatory staff meetings, in-service programs, continuing education, seminars, and self-study programs, association meetings as required
