Job Overview
The Shift Manager focuses on delivering sales and profit results through profitability, guest, people and operations. The Shift Manager supports the General Manager and Assistant Manager in managing the operations during assigned shifts, driving key performance outcomes related to sales, profitability, guest service and people. The Shift Manager helps the shift run smoothly by taking care of their restaurant team and guests and delivering operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leading the Business

• Exemplify, promote and work in a manner consistent with the mission and culture of Popeyes Hawaii.
• Maintain daily and weekly food and equipment inventories with accurate records.
• Ability to troubleshoot any variances in inventory.
• Manage cash control, determine shortages or overages and prepares bank deposits.
• Review and approve invoices and ISTs

Create Memorable Experiences

• Conduct table visits.
• Motivates and directs team members to exceed guest expectations with accurate, fast and friendly service in clean surroundings.
• Assist by providing an organized, professional outstanding orientation for all new hires.
• Assist in guest recovery.

Creating Leaders

• Coach, train, and develop team members around processes and procedures at each station including LTOs.
• Actively participate in team huddles offering ideas that will help the team and
• restaurant.
• Position team members on a shift and consistently thank the team.
• Keep the team updated on shift targets and results.

Leading Store Operations

• Be a role model for team members by working hard to implement shift plan and drive operational results.
• Direct efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products for prompt delivery within established speed of service guidelines.
• Motivates team members during shift on each of the workstations.
• Reviews restaurant results to identify successes and areas of improvement.
• Ensure restaurant upholds operational and brand standards.
• Ensure all Company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs are followed and completed on a timely basis.
• Supervise the floor – manage product levels, procedure/policy adherence.
• Holds keys to the store, capable of opening and closing the store. Completes all opening/closing shift duties.
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as responsibilities are required or assigned.
• Handle cash management, including cash handling procedures and POS system operations (Aloha POS or Micros POS).
• Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all areas of the restaurant.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving complaints promptly.
• Assist in budgeting and financial planning to support restaurant profitability.
• Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process for new staff members.
• Collaborate with kitchen management to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Three months to 1 year experience as a Shift Manager I.
• Complete Shift Manager learning plans in Popeyes Academy and certified in all operational areas in the restaurants.
• ServSafe Certified.
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of the day-to-day operations.
• Proven ability to lead, direct, train and coach.
• Must be able to follow and carry out directions.
• Must be able to use various office equipment including phones, copiers and computers.
• Basic knowledge of PC functions in order to prepare various computerized reports.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills for interacting with crew members, co-managers, upper management and guests.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Solid organizational and collaborative skills to manage a team environment.
• Must have honesty and integrity at all times.
• Capacity to stay optimistic and positive throughout all situations.
• Be flexible and open to change.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to handle and resolve employee’s and guests’ problems.
• Exceptional ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with crew members, upper management and guests.
• Proven experience in a quick service or fast food restaurant environment; fine dining experience is a plus.
• Strong background in food service management, including knowledge of food handling, production, and safety practices.
• Excellent leadership skills with experience in team management and staff training & development.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems (Aloha POS or Micros POS).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Experience in inventory control, budgeting, and restaurant management is preferred.
• Culinary experience is an asset; knowledge of catering or banquet services is beneficial.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Requires some lifting up to 56 lbs. serval times each day.
• Ability to adjust focus - close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision anddepth perception.
• Constant standing for long periods of time. (min. 8 hours)
• Work area includes food, ovens, steamers, mixers, knives and slippery floors.
• Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills, with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
• Requires some bending, stretching and pulling in the course and scope of the work.
• Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
• Consistently work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
• Flexibility to work at any store/location for coverage as needed.
• Constant interaction with employees and guests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
