Sovereign America Industries (SAI) is looking to hire an experienced Industrial Sewing Machine Operator at our Haleyville, Alabama, location. The Industrial Sewing Machine Operator will operate and tend sewing machines to perform sewing operations on various materials. This includes joining, reinforcing, and finishing various parts and materials. While job specific training will be provided, experience in sewing and upholstery is preferred.

Essential Functions include:

• Performing various sewing operations, including joining, reinforcing and finishing on a variety of different types of materials;
• Visually inspecting subassemblies and finished goods per quality standards;
• Understanding patterns and being about to use patterns to build product;
• Ability to follow instructions provided in writing or diagrams;
• Maintaining a clean, neat, orderly and safe work area;
• Ability to read fractions;
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Six (6) months of industrial sewing experience or upholstery experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of industrial stitching equipment, such as single-needle, double-needle, and walking foot machines is preferred.
• Ability to learn and work well with a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
