Position Summary

Specialty Machine is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Business Systems Administrator to serve as the operational owner of our Global Shop Solutions ERP system and related manufacturing business systems.

This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, performance, and continuous improvement of our ERP environment while supporting every department across the organization. The successful candidate will become the company's subject matter expert for Global Shop Solutions, partnering with leadership to improve operational efficiency, strengthen data integrity, and provide meaningful business intelligence that drives better decision-making.

This is not an IT position. It is an operations-focused role responsible for optimizing how our manufacturing business operates through technology, standardized processes, and trusted data.

Primary Responsibilities

Global Shop Solutions Administration

• Serve as the primary administrator for Global Shop Solutions ERP.
• Configure and maintain operational modules.
• Create and maintain customers, vendors, item masters, routings, work centers, labor standards, and other operational master data.
• Manage system configuration, user permissions, upgrades, patches, and operational enhancements.
• Troubleshoot ERP issues and coordinate solutions across departments.

Business Process Ownership

• Develop, document, standardize, and continuously improve business processes utilizing Global Shop.
• Partner with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Planning, Quality, Shipping, and Accounting to ensure business processes are effectively supported by the ERP.
• Recommend and implement workflow improvements that increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Data Governance

• Maintain the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of operational data.
• Perform routine audits to identify and correct data quality issues.
• Establish standards for ERP data management across the organization.
• Ensure the ERP remains the trusted source of operational information.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Develop and maintain executive dashboards and operational reporting.
• Analyze production performance, labor utilization, routing accuracy, and job profitability.
• Identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support leadership with timely, accurate operational insights.

Continuous Improvement

• Review completed jobs to evaluate actual performance versus planned performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating, routing, labor standards, and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure lessons learned are incorporated into ERP master data for future work.
• Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge Management & Training

• Develop ERP documentation and standardized work instructions.
• Train employees on proper system utilization.
• Serve as the company's internal expert for Global Shop Solutions.
• Promote consistent adoption of standardized processes throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Global Shop Solutions ERP in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience administering Global Shop Solutions beyond routine daily use.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, routing, scheduling, costing, and inventory management.
• Experience configuring ERP modules and supporting end users.
• Demonstrated experience developing dashboards, reports, and operational KPIs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Contract manufacturing experience.
• Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
• AS9100 quality management system experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and knowledge management.
• SQL or ERP reporting experience.
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.

• Standardize ERP processes across all departments.
• Improve data accuracy and integrity throughout the system.
• Deliver executive dashboards that provide timely and actionable business intelligence.
• Reduce time spent resolving ERP process questions through documentation and training.
• Improve routing accuracy and operational data through continuous review and refinement.
• Identify opportunities that improve operational efficiency and profitability.
• Present monthly Business Systems updates to the Leadership Team as part of the company's EOS operating cadence.

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
