Overview:

The Paint Prep and Blaster position supports painting operations for aircraft components and structures, ensuring all surfaces are properly prepared, coated, and finished to meet company quality requirements and applicable industry standards. This role works closely with painters to maintain efficient paint booth operations and uphold strict safety and quality expectations. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. This is an ENTRY LEVEL position, we are willing to train!

Shift/Pay: We have weekday & weekends available!!

• WEEKDAYS: Monday-Thursday / 6a-4:30p / $17.00 an hour
• WEEKENDS: Thursday-Sunday / 6a-4:30p / $18.50 an hour

Job Duties:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming as required.
• Mix paints, primers, and coatings in accordance with specifications and manufacturer instructions.
• Perform required tests on mixed paints, including viscosity checks.
• Print, apply, and maintain pot life labels for all mixed paint materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of paint booths, tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Ensure all safety procedures and environmental regulations are followed at all times.
• Assist with staging, moving, and arranging materials, parts, and equipment.
• Conduct visual and procedural quality checks to ensure painted surfaces meet specifications.
• Assist with inventory control and notify leadership of material or supply needs.
• Ensure proper surface preparation and coating adhesion through meticulous work practices.
• Perform paint touch-ups and minor repairs as required.
• Anticipate painter needs and proactively perform tasks to allow painters to remain productive in the paint booth.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular, reliable on-site attendance is required.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Basic mechanical aptitude for maintaining tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions and technical documentation.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must pass Background Screening - NO FELONIES - Nothing violent, theft or pending. No warrants

Physical Demands:

• Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, including standing for extended periods.
• Regularly lift, carry (short distances), push, or pull up to 100 pounds using team assistance and/or material-handling equipment.
• Periodically lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel.
• Frequently use hands and fingers to inspect parts, operate tools, tighten hardware, and manipulate controls.
• Ability to accurately distinguish colors for inspection of coatings, indicators, and dashboards.
• Visual acuity sufficient to read gauges, labels, and measurement devices.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing and warehouse settings with variable conditions.
• Exposure to moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection may be required).
• Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, and vapors (respirators or other PPE may be required).
• Work around hazardous equipment such as forklifts, cranes, hand tools, and other industrial machinery.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
