Position Summary

The Manager of Clinical Operations is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of our cardiac monitoring center, overseeing the full clinical workflow from device hookup through report delivery. This role manages a team of certified cardiac technicians and analysts, ensures timely and accurate arrhythmia detection and reporting, maintains compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory standards, and drives continuous improvement in quality, turnaround time, and patient safety. The ideal candidate combines strong clinical knowledge of cardiac rhythm analysis with proven experience managing people, processes, and performance metrics in a 24/7 monitoring environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Operations & Workflow Management

• Oversee daily operations of the cardiac monitoring center, including MCT live monitoring, Holter/Extended Holter scanning and analysis, and report generation and delivery
• Manage workflow queues, staffing coverage, and escalation protocols to ensure 24/7 monitoring continuity and adherence to turnaround time (TAT) targets
• Serve as the clinical escalation point for critical arrhythmia notifications (e.g., VT, high-grade AV block, symptomatic pauses, new-onset AFib) and ensure timely physician notification per protocol
• Coordinate with device logistics/inventory teams to ensure biosensor availability, patient hookups, and returns are executed without service disruption

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Own the QA program for cardiac reports: audit analyst work for accuracy of arrhythmia classification, ECG strip selection, and report completeness prior to physician delivery
• Maintain compliance with Joint Commission accreditation standards, CMS/IDTF requirements, HIPAA, and applicable state regulations; lead survey readiness and corrective action plans
• Develop, document, and enforce SOPs, clinical protocols, and notification criteria; keep policies current with practice standards
• Track and report key performance indicators (report TAT, critical event notification times, QA error rates, patient adherence/wear-time, rework volume) and lead root-cause analysis on misses

Team Leadership & Development

• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise Certified Cardiographic Technicians (CCTs), Cardiac Analysts, and support staff
• Build and administer competency assessments, onboarding programs, and ongoing continuing education for arrhythmia recognition and platform proficiency
• Conduct performance reviews, coach underperformance, and foster a culture of accountability, patient safety, and clinical excellence
• Manage shift coverage, PTO, and on-call rotations for a monitoring operation with extended-hours or 24/7 requirements

Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration

• Partner with billing/revenue cycle leadership to ensure documentation supports clean claims (e.g., CPT 93228/93229 for MCT, 93241–93248 for Holter/Extended Holter)
• Collaborate with technology vendors and internal platform teams on software configuration, report template improvements, and issue resolution; escalate platform defects impacting patient safety or report quality
• Support sales and account management by resolving physician-facing clinical questions, report concerns, and service issues promptly and professionally
• Contribute clinical input to new service line development, device evaluations, and process automation initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cardiac monitoring, electrophysiology, telemetry, or a related cardiac diagnostics setting, with 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
• Certification as a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through CCI, or equivalent (RN/paramedic with advanced ECG credential considered)
• Expert-level ECG/arrhythmia interpretation skills across ambulatory monitoring modalities (Holter, Extended Holter, Event, MCT)
• Working knowledge of IDTF regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards, and HIPAA
• Demonstrated experience managing production metrics, QA programs, and staff scheduling in a high-volume clinical operation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including physician-facing interaction
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring software platforms, EHR/portal systems, and Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an IDTF or remote cardiac monitoring company (vs. hospital telemetry only)
• Familiarity with ambulatory cardiac billing and coding (technical component workflows)
• Experience supporting accreditation surveys (Joint Commission, ACHC, or similar)
• Experience with multi-state operations and remote/distributed teams
• Bachelor's degree in a health science, nursing, or healthcare administration field

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
