Summary: Responsible for sorting of hardline goods into salable or salvage categories. Selection of salable goods must meet quality standards while maintaining quantity of hard lines inventory. Responsible for pricing of merchandise, stocking shelves, mark-downs, rotating and displaying merchandise.
Essential Functions:

Sort donations into sellable, salvage or trash categories.

Price merchandise using baseline price guides; mark-up special priced items of exceptional value.

Provide quality assurance by checking for tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, missing buttons.

Consistently meet production goals.

Ensures a positive donor and customer interaction by providing world class customer service.
-
Demonstrates the principles of DURT (Donor Urgent Response Team) with every donor interaction and uses the DURT Alert system to ensure all donors receive world class customer service.

Always maintain processing and pricing area in a neat and clean condition.

Appropriately identify the value of items.
-
Assist with floor rotation of apparel as needed.
-
Transport merchandise throughout the facility including sales floor, dock area, donor door, etc.

Stock shelves, display, and rotate merchandise, and perform markdowns per GIV procedures.

Transport trash to compactor and operate compactor as needed.
-
Stay current with industry trends, brands, collectibles, and price points for hardline goods.

Identify potential e-commerce items and set aside for manager approval.
-
Preplan for adequate supply of donated goods by notifying manager on duty when merchandise is low.

Adheres to all Goodwill personnel policies and procedures.

Follows safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Manager on Duty.

Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Attends in-service related training as assigned.

If you have a pile, you have a problem. This applies to backrooms, desks, production areas and warehouses.

Hard goods should be priority processed.

Material handling equipment is for moving donations, not for storage or merchandising.

Don’t fall in love with your donations…. rotation is critical to success.

Donor value and transaction value should increase.

Profits or ROI should increase.
Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.

Ability to perform basic math skills.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, team members, customers, and donors.
