Overview

Westside Village Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated RN Staff Development Coordinator to lead our ongoing education and training initiatives for nursing staff. This vital role ensures that our team remains compliant with healthcare regulations, up-to-date on best practices, and equipped with the skills necessary to deliver exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience and a passion for teaching and professional growth within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Duties

• Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive training programs tailored to nursing staff at all levels, including new hire orientation and ongoing education.
• Facilitate adult learning sessions focused on critical care, acute care, and specialized areas such as pediatrics, ICU, and home care.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation and records.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to nursing staff to enhance clinical skills, including physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care techniques.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify training needs based on regulatory updates and facility goals.
• Monitor training effectiveness through assessments and feedback, adjusting programs as necessary to meet evolving standards.
• Maintain detailed records of training activities in accordance with healthcare policies and accreditation requirements.

Experience

Candidates should possess significant clinical experience in diverse settings such as critical care units (ICU), hospital environments—including teaching hospitals—and nursing homes. Prior experience in pediatrics, adult education, or home care is highly desirable. A strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical records management is essential. Proven expertise in training & development within healthcare settings is required to succeed in this role. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and medical documentation practices will support effective program delivery. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and a commitment to fostering professional growth among nursing staff.
