Steristat Cleaning Solutions is a Columbus-based commercial cleaning company providing construction cleaning and facility services to mid-size and large general contractors across the Columbus market.

The company has entered a deliberate growth phase, with a focus on deepening existing GC relationships, expanding our bid pipeline, and building a management team capable of running the business at scale.

The Role

We are hiring an Field Operations Manager to own the day-to-day operational and client relationship functions of our construction cleaning division. This is a field role first — you'll spend most of your time on job sites, not behind a desk. We need someone who can be trusted to run things independently: walking jobs, managing crews, and handling GC relationships without needing to be told what to do next.

This is a newly created role designed to close a critical gap: we need someone who is the consistent, reliable presence on our job sites and with our general contractor clients, while also running the operational machine behind the work — scheduling, crew coordination, and job walks.

The right candidate is comfortable on a construction site — able to walk a job, understand what's happening, and know the right questions to ask. You don't need a construction background to do this well; you need good instincts, curiosity, and the discipline to follow through on your own, with minimal oversight. Estimating and scope analysis are taught on the job, supported by tools we've already built.

Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is preferred, but not required.

What You'll Do

Scheduling & Operations

• Own the master schedule for all active construction projects
• Coordinate crew assignments with site supervisors and field staff
• Communicate schedule changes to GC contacts proactively — before they call you
• Ensure crews have the supplies, equipment, and site access they need
• Walk job sites regularly; monitor progress and flag scope changes or change order needs

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for general contractor project managers and site superintendents
• Maintain regular, reliable communication — the person GC PMs know they can count on
• Stay attuned to upcoming project needs through normal site conversation, and flag opportunities to CEO/sales
• Log client interactions and job status in our CRM tool

Estimating (trained on the job)

• Learn our estimating process and AI-assisted scope analysis workflow
• Apply labor rates and pricing guidelines (provided) to produce estimates, with CEO review as you ramp up
• Full estimate ownership expected within [90 days / your target] as proficiency builds

Reporting

• Weekly pipeline and operations update to CEO
• Maintain live job/estimate status tracker

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

• Experience managing crews or field teams in a blue-collar environment (construction, trades, logistics, facilities, warehouse, or similar) — you know how to run people and schedules on the ground
• Comfortable working outdoors and on active job sites in all conditions — this is a field-based role, not a desk job
• Comfortable on an active construction site — can walk a job and read what's going on
• Self-directed — you don't need close supervision to know what to do and get it done
• Strong relationship instincts — people trust you, and you follow through on what you say you'll do
• Organized and disciplined — nothing falls through the cracks
• Clear, proactive communicator — you flag issues before they become problems
• Willingness to learn estimating and pricing from the ground up

Nice-to-Haves

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Prior experience specifically in commercial construction, GC relationships, or estimating
• Familiarity with the Columbus GC market
• Comfortable with CRM tools, scheduling software, and AI-assisted workflows

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $70,000–$85,000
• Performance bonus tied to revenue/gross profit growth
