We are seeking an experienced Automation/Robotic Service Technician to join our growing field service team. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, working directly with customers, and repairing advanced robotic and automation systems, we'd like to hear from you.
This position is primarily field service, working at customer facilities throughout the region. Most travel consists of day trips, with occasional overnight travel. A company vehicle is provided for all work-related travel.
Overtime opportunities are available, while weekend work is infrequent and only required on rare occasions.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial robotic and automated welding systems.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs on robotic equipment.
- Install, commission, and service robotic and automation systems.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, automation controls, sensors, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.
- Assist customers with robot programming, path creation, and process optimization.
- Perform preventative maintenance and recommend improvements to customers.
- Complete service documentation and communicate repair findings professionally.
- Follow all company and customer safety procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience servicing industrial robots such as OTC, FANUC, Motoman, Panasonic, or similar robotic platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting experience with industrial automation and machine controls.
- Experience working with PLCs and industrial automation equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel to customer locations.
Preferred
- Experience configuring robot I/O, robot startup, and fieldbus networks.
- Knowledge of industrial networking and automation communications.
- Experience with robotic welding applications.
- Working knowledge of MIG, TIG, and plasma cutting processes.
Preferred Education: Associate degree (2-year technical degree) in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field. Relevant hands-on experience and technical ability are valued more than formal education.
