Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 Per Hour DOEYour profile

Working with Engineering Manager, the Engineering Intern is responsible to obtain packaging design knowledge by supporting Design, Drawing creation, Sample Making and Testing and be involved with R/D Innovation as required.

Duration of Engineering Intern program is (minimum) three months, the intern will complete their internship with basic and some advanced knowledge of packaging design, drawing creation, sample making and testing.

Options for project focus can include the following:

• Complete assigned training courses
• Be able to use all Nefab design tools, IronCad/Artios Cad
• Can demonstrate full understanding of design processes
• Can demonstrate basic knowledge of one of the following:
• Can demonstrate basic knowledge of Fabricated foam design
• Can demonstrate basic knowledge of Corrugated design
• Can demonstrate basic knowledge of Crate design
• Can demonstrate basic knowledge of ASTM/ISTA packaging testing
• Can demonstrate basic knowledge of the manufacturing processes

During the internship period, the intern will:

• Act as support function to Test Lab operation
• Act as support function to Design/Sample making
• Support Production as needed for their design
• Support R/D initiatives

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in on-the-job training
• Weekly progress update with Engineering
• Conducting research and assisting Engineering
• Learn Nefab Design Processes and Engineering Tools
• Learn design aspects of Nefab core products, as applicable
• Operate Test Lab equipment
• Support R&D for new material and/or new concept development

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION

• Bachelor degree or higher in mechanical engineering, Industrial design, packaging technology or similar engineering background in progress. Specialization degree in packaging is not required, but is a plus.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous work experience is not necessary. University Co-op experience may be advantageous.
• A minimum 2-3 years of schooling towards a Bachelor’s degree is advantageous
• Knowledge of 3d/2d software (IronCad/Solid Works, AutoCad/Artios)
• Knowledge of packaging dynamics is advantageous
