Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Tool & Die Maker / EDM Sinker Operator at our Engines Products – Cleveland Operations Tempcraft facility in Cleveland, Ohio. This role is responsible for the mechanical construction and support of molds and dies used in manufacturing. The position requires strong hands-on toolmaking experience, precision machining skills, and the ability to operate EDM sinker equipment and other toolroom machinery in a high-performance aerospace manufacturing environment.

Compensation
Hourly range: $20.00–$40.00/hour (Actual compensation may vary based on education, experience, skill set, and market/location factors.)
Key Responsibilities
- Build, repair, and support molds and dies used in production.
- Lead the construction of multiple mold and die components concurrently.
- Operate EDM Sinker machines such as Sodick and Charmille.
- Interpret engineering drawings, design blueprints, and setup sheets to determine mold and die construction plans.
- Perform machining and fitting operations within very close tolerances.
- Inspect own work to ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
- Partner closely with Engineering and Programming throughout the manufacturing process.
- Operate toolroom equipment including Bridgeport mills, grinders, saws, and EDM equipment.
- Maintain personal tools and toolbox required to perform the work.
- Follow all Corporate EHS, Quality, and HR policies, procedures, and standards.
- Wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures to reduce risk of injury.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tool making, die making, or mold making or experience operating EDM Sinker machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and setup documentation.
- Ability to perform precision work within tight tolerances.
- Ability to inspect own work and maintain quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- State-issued Journeyman papers in Tool & Die and/or Mold Making, or 8+ years of job shop experience.
- Previous experience constructing turbine or airfoil molds and dies.
- Experience operating Sodick and/or Charmille EDM Sinker machines.
- Strong knowledge of tooling processes.
- Basic math and trigonometry skills.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a toolroom, die-making, or manufacturing cell team.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
