Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Biochemistry with first authorship on at least 1 peer-reviewed research publication. Ph.D., DDS, DVM, JD, MD or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience with recombinant protein expression in multiple expression systems, purification and characterization, in vitro protein stability assays, muscle cell culture (including generation of transgenic lines), , biochemical and migratory analyses, as well as implementation of intracellular tension sensors and image data analysis.
Position Description
Summary:
Duties as Postdoctoral Associate will principally include the design, implementation, and interpretation of experiments aimed at elucidating the effect of phosphorylations in the function and stability of dystrophin and utrophin proteins in the context of muscular dystrophy. Also, on assisting in tension sensing and mechanotransduction projects in diverse cell lines and disease models. The Postdoctoral Associate will also participate in the day-to-day supervision of technical staff (Junior Scientists) and undergraduate students integral to achieving project goals, in drafting manuscripts that communicate the study’s findings for publication in peer-reviewed manuscripts. Finally, the Postdoctoral Associate will actively participate in lab meetings and local seminars, and will represent/promote the project at relevant national meetings.
Essential Functions: 70%: Experimental design and implementation
