Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination processes by thoroughly cleaning, disinfecting, and inspecting surgical instruments and medical equipment using established sterilization protocols.
• Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and other specialized medical equipment with precision to ensure proper sterilization cycles are completed effectively.
• Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring accurate tracking, restocking, and proper storage of instruments and materials.
• Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques during handling, assembly, packaging, and distribution of sterile items to prevent contamination.
• Conduct routine quality checks and documentation to verify that all sterilized equipment meets regulatory standards for infection prevention and control.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to understand specific instrument needs and prepare surgical sets accordingly for upcoming procedures.
• Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory logs in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to identify instruments and understand their clinical applications.
• Proficiency in sterilization methods specific to medical environments, including autoclaving and chemical sterilants.
