Position Summary:

The Principal acts as a visionary leader responsible for guiding the educational direction, managing operations, and ensuring the overall success of Chandler Park Academy High School. By closely collaborating with students, teachers, parents, administrative staff, and community partners, the Principal fosters a positive, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment that aligns with the school’s mission and vision.

Qualifications:

• Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration and Supervision or equivalent required.
• Valid State of Michigan administrative certification.
• Valid State of Michigan teacher certification.
• Minimum of seven years of successful educational experience, including at least two years in administration.
• Demonstrated ability and desire to effectively collaborate with students, teachers, parents, and the broader community.
• Proven experience leading school operations and driving academic achievement through data-driven strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise all administrative, instructional, and operational functions to ensure high-quality education in a positive and safe learning environment.
• Foster open communication among students, parents, teachers, and community stakeholders.
• Maintain consistent visibility on campus and at school-related events to strengthen community engagement.
• Provide leadership in implementing Common Core Standards and preparing students for standardized assessments and college and career readiness.
• Lead the development and execution of the School Improvement Plan, aligned with district-wide strategic goals.
• Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and invoice management to support instructional and operational excellence.
• Lead recruitment, evaluation, and professional growth of instructional and non-instructional staff, including regular classroom observations and constructive feedback.
• Chair weekly Cabinet and staff meetings to maintain cohesive operations and instructional quality.
• Direct school-wide data analysis to assess student achievement, inform instructional strategies, and guide continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage student discipline effectively, promoting a respectful and safe school climate according to established guidelines in the Student/Parent Handbook.
• Coordinate school-wide compliance with safety protocols, including emergency response procedures and mandated drills.
• Collaborate closely with campus safety, program evaluators, and district instructional specialists to enhance school effectiveness and compliance.
• Engage actively with community and parental stakeholders, clearly articulating the school's vision, progress, and needs.
• Attend and actively participate in monthly Board of Directors and Saginaw Valley State University meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
