Location: Genevieve, MO 63670 (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Flexible between 7:30 AM–5:00 PM (32–40 hours/week)

Pay: $22.00–$26.00 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support a busy HR department with recruiting, onboarding, employee records management, compliance, and general HR operations. This is a fully onsite contract opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment while providing exceptional service to employees, applicants, and leadership.
The ideal candidate has previous HR administrative experience, excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while managing multiple priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Support the full recruitment process from application through onboarding.
- Post and maintain job openings on internal and external job boards.
- Coordinate candidate communications, interview scheduling, and hiring activities.
- Conduct employment verifications and professional reference checks.
- Assist with recruiting events, job fairs, and workforce development initiatives.
- Maintain applicant tracking records and monitor open requisitions.
Onboarding & Employee Records
- Coordinate new hire onboarding appointments and orientation activities.
- Prepare and process new hire paperwork, employment forms, tax documents, and I-9 documentation.
- Complete background checks, license verifications, and pre-employment requirements.
- Create, organize, and maintain employee personnel files.
- Process employee status changes, promotions, transfers, and separations.
- Communicate employee updates to Payroll in a timely manner.
- Ensure personnel records remain accurate, complete, and compliant.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.
- Support personnel file audits and compliance initiatives.
- Verify professional licenses, certifications, educational credentials, and employment eligibility.
- Assist with provider credentialing activities as needed.
- Support accreditation and regulatory documentation requirements.
Employee Support
- Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Assist with employee recognition programs, engagement activities, and special events.
- Prepare employee communications and HR-related materials.
- Support employee relations activities and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Provide outstanding customer service to employees and applicants.
Administrative Support
- Maintain HR office files, records, and office supplies.
- Process incoming correspondence and departmental documentation.
- Generate reports and assist with HR metrics and data tracking.
- Create employee identification badges.
- Support HR projects and additional administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous Human Resources or HR Administrative experience.
- Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, or personnel records.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or HRIS.
- Experience with employee file management and compliance documentation.
- Background in healthcare, long-term care, or regulated industries.
- Experience conducting background checks, employment verification, or credentialing.
