Summary: Under general guidance of lead tech, supervision or management, performing refrigeration operations and preventative maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse. Provide maintenance support as necessary to ensure operational objectives are consistently met. Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of industrial refrigeration, mechanical and electrical systems as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Operates and performs repair(s) and adjustment(s) of refrigeration system. Continuously monitors system performance and determine when system is not operating correctly, then corrects deficiency if within skill set or advises lead, supervision or management of deviations and consequences. Troubleshoots equipment, make repairs and/or and recommends corrective action(s).
· Performs routine maintenance on various types of warehouse equipment in accordance with applicable OSHA & EPA Standards. Conducts tests of safety equipment to ensure OSHA, EPA and operational standards are adhered to. Is familiar with all OSHA, EPA program requirements for refrigeration such as PSM & RMP. Engaged in efforts related to risk management and USDA compliance. Champion safety by promoting, maximizing, and promptly correcting or addressing any potential safety issues.
· Supports implementation and sustainment of Colorado Premium Operating System (AOS). Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as multi-meters, gauges, etc. Is familiar with maintenance and testing of fire alarm and protection systems.
· Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses tools and equipment carefully as instructed. Maintains accurate required daily documentation and preventive maintenance records. Follows all SOP’s, GMP’s and safety policies and practices as required.
· Keeps work area (clean, organized, etc.), and performs housekeeping duties as required. Performs other maintenance related work and job assignments as required.
Education/Experience:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, with three years combined Refrigeration and/or Maintenance experience (relevant Technical School certification program and/or Associates Degree program considered as credit in lieu of employment experience).
· Proficient in MS Office Suite, and knowledge of industry product reporting systems.
· Must have proof of attended and passed Ammonia Operator 1 certification from an accredited/recognized ammonia school such as Garden City Ammonia Program (GCAP) or Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA). (Required).
· Must be willing and capable of attending and passing Ammonia Operator 2 certification from an accredited/recognized ammonia school such as Garden City Ammonia Program (GCAP) or Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA). (Required).

· May be required to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of –20 degrees Fahrenheit and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation).
· Must be able to work at heights in excess of 35 ft. and be able to access elevated platforms and catwalk.
· Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
· Frequently required to stand; walk; push; pull; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; and crouch
· Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds by self and 125 pounds with assistance.
· Must be able to use hand and power tools.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. Either naturally or with the aid of eye glasses (use of contacts are prohibited when working with ammonia).
· Able to work nights and weekends as needed.
· Must be able to pass a physical and respiratory exam.
