Job Title: CNC Programmer
Purpose: This position is responsible for programming complex, tight tolerance aerospace components using NX CAM and supporting a fleet of high performance DMG MORI 5 and 3 axis machines. Determine machining methods, tooling strategies, and process flows to ensure efficient, repeatable production in a high mix, low volume environment.
Plays a key role in turning engineering intent into practical machining processes, working closely with machinists, and owning programs from concept through production.
Responsibilities/Duties
· Program and optimize 3-4-5 axis toolpaths using NX CAM
· Plan machining sequences, workholding, and fixturing strategies
· Select cutters, feeds/speeds, and methods across various materials
· Perform toolpath verification and machine simulation
· Support prove-outs and troubleshoot machining issues on the floor
· Create setup documentation (ISO/AS9100 compliant)
· Design basic 3D fixturing models/drawings
· Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and machinists
Education/Experience:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent required
· 5+ years CNC programming experience (preferred)
· Strong proficiency in NX (Unigraphics) CAM
· Experience with 5 axis machining (preferred)
· Knowledge of G-code, offsets, and GD&T
Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
· Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members
· Multi-task and take on new projects in a fast-paced environment
· Work with minimal supervision
