Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital sign monitoring, to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions across various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, specialists, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care delivery within hospital and outpatient settings.
• Perform procedures including suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and basic life support interventions as required.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, and clinical data management.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient safety and care standards.
• Provide triage services in emergency or urgent care settings to prioritize patient needs effectively.
• Administer medications and injections following proper protocols while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Engage in discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes post-hospitalization or during outpatient visits.
• Offer specialized services such as botulinum toxin treatments for neurological conditions or esthetic laser treatments for cosmetic procedures when applicable.
• Maintain proficiency in ICD-10 coding standards and CPT coding for billing accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Support telehealth consultations to extend access to care beyond traditional settings.
• Ensure infection control practices are rigorously followed during all procedures including sterile processing techniques.

Skills

• Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and data retrieval.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
• Proficiency in performing advanced procedures like gastrostomy tube feeding management, ventilator support, cardiac catheterization assistance, sonography, and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
• Familiarity with diverse clinical environments including ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), trauma centers (Level I & II), emergency rooms, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospice & palliative medicine settings, and post-acute care environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases involving infectious disease care, acute pain management, occupational health issues, dementia or Alzheimer’s care, memory care units, and behavioral health concerns.
• Competence in handling special populations such as children (pediatrics), elderly patients (geriatrics), individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized nursing home or home care services.
• Skilled in performing invasive procedures like spinal taps or catheterizations while adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and utilization management processes for comprehensive case oversight.
• Effective communication skills tailored for multidisciplinary team collaboration and patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition or chronic disease management.
