Hiring dependable and hardworking Underground Utility and Site Work Laborers / General Helpers to join our construction crew. This position involves assisting with underground utility installation, excavation, trenching, grading, drainage work, pipe installation, site preparation, and general construction labor.
The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and willing to perform physically demanding work as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist with installation of underground utilities, including water, sewer, storm drain, conduit, and related utility systems.
- Perform general site work, including excavation support, grading, trench preparation, backfilling, and cleanup.
- Load, unload, carry, and organize tools, materials, pipe, fittings, and equipment.
- Shovel, rake, compact, and level soil, gravel, stone, and other materials.
- Assist equipment operators and pipe crews as directed.
- Help set up and maintain trench safety, traffic control, and jobsite protection.
- Use hand tools, power tools, compactors, saws, pumps, and other construction equipment.
- Keep the jobsite clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow instructions from foremen, supervisors, and equipment operators.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA/jobsite safety requirements.
- Perform other general labor duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous construction, underground utility, site work, excavation, or general labor experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be dependable and report to work on time.
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, mud, and other jobsite conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, dig, shovel, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Must be willing to follow directions and work as part of a crew.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction safety is a requirement.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- CDL, OSHA card, equipment experience, or utility experience is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to [50–75] pounds, digging, shoveling, bending, climbing in and out of trenches, walking on uneven ground, and working around heavy equipment.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.
- Overtime may be available depending on workload and project schedule.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
