Job Summary
We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of our organization. The CFO will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial planning, risk management, and regulatory compliance. In addition, this person oversees Human Resources and IT. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader capable of driving fiscal strategy, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting sustainable growth through effective financial analysis and decision-making. Prefer candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the credibility of financial activities by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
- Takes a hands-on lead position of developing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive approach to ensure that effective internal controls are in place for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ensures that all applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial, Human Resources and tax reporting are complied with.
- Manages and directs all aspects of Accounting, Human Resources and I.T. functions of the organization. Has three direct manager reports from these functions.
- Provides the President and/or the ownership group with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Provides the President and/or the ownership group with recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of any type of regulatory changes or actions.
- Assists in establishing yearly financial objectives.
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of regular financial reports and forecasts.
Develops a departmental vision by focusing on certain functions such as:
A.) Accounting Activities:
- Oversee and review the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements.
- Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and cost allocations.
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems.
- Serve as final point of escalation for Accounts Receivable/Collections/Accounts Payable issues.
- Oversee all payroll activities for the company.
B.) Finance/Cash Management:
- Oversee cash flow planning to ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Oversee cash management and the weekly payables process.
- Oversee investment and capital asset management.
- Oversee financing strategies and activities as well as banking relationships.
C.) Corporate Development/Legal Affairs:
- Initiate and/or represent the company in efforts with bankers or financial institutions.
- Prepares various documents, analysis or reports required by financial institutions.
- Oversees and seeks legal counsel in handling corporate matters as needed.
- Oversees the financials and operation of related entities.
D.) Insurance/Real Estate/401k:
- Manages the company’s health, corporate, and life insurance programs.
- Manages and administrates the company’s 401k plan.
- Manages the company’s real estate affairs consisting of leases and sub-leases.
- Coordinates with legal counsel in any matters requiring review or assistance.
E.) Planning:
- Coordinates the development and monitoring of budgets.
- Develops financial plans and forecasts.
- Works with the President and/or ownership in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team.
- Works with the President and/or ownership to develop short, medium and long-term financial plans and projections.
F.) Regulatory Compliance:
- Represents the company to auditors, state, federal or other public officials with regards to regulatory or compliance requirements.
- Ensures legal or regulatory compliance regarding the proper filing of tax returns and supporting documents.
Experience
- Proven expertise in corporate finance functions including financial analysis, strategic planning, fiscal management, and business development.
- Demonstrated success in managing accounting systems and implementing industry-standard frameworks such as GAAP.
- Strong background in risk analysis, regulatory reporting requirements, and compliance with governmental accounting standards.
- Skilled in financial modeling, forecasting analysis, and developing comprehensive financial report writing and interpretation skills.
- Adept at managing within finance departments while fostering leadership development.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with strategic management capabilities to influence organizational direction positively.
- Familiarity with supply chain finance concepts alongside expense management practices to optimize cost control measures.

Pay: $160,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
