ResponsAble has an immediate need for Substation Construction Managers with 5+ years of experience for substation projects in Southeast Louisiana and the Mid-Atlantic Region. The Substation Construction Managers are responsible for ensuring construction subcontractors are executing the work in accordance with safety, quality, reporting, contract, standards, change management, risk management, and schedule requirements. The Construction Manager’s additional responsibilities are proper communication with project team and project stakeholders to include standardized reporting and conducting appropriate construction meetings.
Compensation: $45-$55 an hour, 50 to 60 hours a week
Mobilization and Demob: Food & Lodging, Mileage for ST travel rate paid
GSA Per diem offered (7 days)
40 hours PTO after one year of work
Responsibilities:
Reports:
- Review QA/QC Plan prior to project execution
- Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to job status, safety, and quality.
- Provides quality reports during and after the installation of an activity.
- Fill out daily report and submit to Project Manager
- Participate in morning sub-contract safety meetings.
- Issue work permits as required per task.
- Observe high risk activities (i.e., hot work, critical lifts, confined space, etc.)
- Perform EHS Observation, 1 per day minimum.
- Site “action” Photos (ensure personnel has proper PPE and photo can pass safety observation), upload to CM folder.
- Document sub-contractor Daily Logs in project folder for work verification.
- Verify sub-contractor received and checks vendor material, sub-contractor, and CM to sign off on materials received. Scan and file packing slip on server.
- Perform Site Safety Orientation as needed for new personnel arriving onsite.
Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in power utility construction management in the fields of Distribution, Substation, Testing and Commissioning engineering.
- Ability to manage or work on multiple work fronts and tasks at one time; meet deadlines, prioritize the work, and work independently while producing quality work.

Proficiency in reading and understanding construction drawings and related standards.

Ability to professionally interface verbally with internal and external stakeholders.

5+ years of experience in line construction and resiliency construction management
- Microsoft Office Suite, Share point, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat
- Comprehensive Unit based Safety Program (CUSP) or equivalent safety certification
