What we're looking for

Spinnaker SCA, a Publicis Sapient company, is seeking a seasoned Manhattan TMS Implementation Test Lead to oversee testing and quality assurance efforts during a Transportation Management System (TMS) deployment. You’ll serve as the technical and strategic owner of all testing phases—ensuring robust functionality, seamless integration, and operational readiness across the TMS ecosystem.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in transportation testing, system integration, and logistics workflows, along with a collaborative mindset and exceptional attention to detail. Required qualifications

Here’s what you need to bring to the table:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required. Equivalent experience includes a proven track record of skills, professional accomplishments, or training related to the role.
• 5+ years of experience in TMS implementation testing or QA for transportation software
• Hands-on experience with at least one major TMS platform (e.g., Manhattan TMS, Oracle TM, Blue Yonder, MercuryGate, SAP TM)
• Strong understanding of transportation modes and operations (LTL, TL, Parcel, Intermodal, Air, Ocean)
• Experience with EDI transactions (204, 210, 211, 214) and API-based integration workflows
• Familiarity with carrier rate engines, freight audit/payment, and logistics execution
• Proficiency in test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM
• Analytical skills to interpret results, isolate root causes, and identify systemic issues
• Ability to collaborate across IT, business users, and external carriers

Experience that's a plus

You’ll stand out if you also bring experience with:

• Experience with ERP and WMS integrations (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
• Performance testing expertise, particularly related to batch processing and system scalability
• Familiarity with cloud-based TMS platforms and microservices architectures
• ISTQB or similar QA certification

What you'll actually do

Test Strategy & Planning

• Develop a test strategy specific to the TMS implementation, covering unit, integration, system, UAT, and regression testing
• Define testing scope, entry/exit criteria, risk mitigation plans, and quality metrics
• Align testing strategy with transportation workflows and operational requirements

Test Execution & Management

• Lead and execute unit testing across TMS core functions such as order routing, carrier selection, and freight billing
• Oversee integration testing with ERP, WMS, carrier APIs, and freight payment systems
• Execute real-world system and scenario testing, including exception handling and tracking
• Coordinate and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders
• Conduct performance and security testing, including role-based access, response time, and data protection
• Manage regression testing following updates or system changes

Defect Management & Reporting

• Track and manage test defects via tools like JIRA, ServiceNow, or TestRail
• Collaborate with developers and integrators for root cause resolution
• Deliver clear test documentation, go-live readiness reports, and quality scorecards

Go-Live Readiness & Post-Implementation Support

• Conduct final smoke testing and validate cutover plans
• Support deployment activities with rollback contingencies
• Provide post-go-live validation and stabilization support to ensure solution continuity

Pay Range: $70,000-170,000 USD + Bonus

The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Spinnaker SCA. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
