Position Overview: What do we need?
The Development and Accounting Assistant works with development and accounting staff, and others across the organization, to support multi-channel fundraising, responsible for data maintenance, donation acknowledgements, and entry standards, runs reports and provides analysis, and develops policies and procedures for donor and prospect data management and integrity. The Assistant will help with accounting functions as needed with an emphasis on accounts payable.
The Assistant will use their subject matter expertise to oversee the day-to-day administration of our data management system(s). The seamless functioning of our donor database is critical to helping us achieve our mission. This position will support special events planning and day-of operations. This person must possess strong technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. This position will work closely with the Council administrative support team with day-to-day operations, including answering phones, cover the front desk, and provide in person customer support and other tasks as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Assist with Accounting Functions as needed with emphasis on Account Payable.
· Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various organizational and regulatory requirements.
· Always maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing the Council, Scouting America, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
Education:
· High-School degree, Associate’s degree or equivalent 2-year college education and qualified work experience.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience in database management, accounting and/or financial operations, data entry and report generation.
2. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word, including the use of mail merge and forms.
3. Experience using Blackbaud CRM database a plus.
4. Willing to leverage technology, including AI tools, to improve efficiency, organization, and the quality of work products. Training is available for a qualified candidate.
5. Ability to work independently, plan and organize tasks efficiently.
6. Accurate data entry and strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
8. Always understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality.
9. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Schedule: 7.5 hours daily, 9am–5pm; Monday to Friday
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on experiences and skill set

Compensation for this full-time position (37.5 hours per week) includes an hourly wage of $18.00 to $22.00 per hour based on qualifications, experience, and references.
