For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $117,600 - $176,400 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric has a challenging opportunity for a passionate individual to assume the role of a System & Architecture Senior Engineer, providing cutting-edge automation solutions to help machine builders and control panel shops add value to their systems through our cutting-edge technologies and services.
The right candidate will have a proven track record of experience as an advanced solution design consultant and engineer in the industrial automation field (covering PLC, SCADA, Motion, Variable Frequency Drives, etc.).
Collaboration and partnering within Schneider’s various teams in the industry business nationally and internationally are keys to success.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide technical pre-sales support for the OEM sales front and back-office organization in relation to OEM accounts prescription, machine conversion, and/or new machine design specifications (saturation):

Visit customers together with our sales teams, and following their requests, to actively detect and follow up leads to re-orient towards billable pre-sales/ pre-project services such as pre-project consultation, project feasibility studies, site audits, etc.

Introduce and promote the complete EcoStruxureTM Machine solutions in terms of strengths, weaknesses, and possibilities.

Build demos to help customers visualize the main solution concepts whenever required (Proof Of Concept “POC”).

Develop required technical and commercial argumentation documents.

Help to close deals by providing differentiating elements to the salesforce for the commercial argumentation.

Be the main technical interface for support requests and solution contracts, in sync with regional and/or global Flex-Centers.

Be the primary customer technical interface when a SE’s1 ADE2 is involved
(i.e., engineered solution).
Support Channel partners (e.g., Machine Integrators “MI” or Process OEMs “POEMs”) with their technical sales requests and assist them with winning their project opportunities/ implementing appropriate TVDA architectures.

Within the functional requirements and constraints of the solution/application under analysis, recommend and develop competitive architecture (based on TVDAs or customized typical architectures) and its implementation which optimally meets OEM customers’ needs & requirements.

Provide technical expertise to OEM customers when defining their machine specifications / tender documents.

Assist/lead the automation & control system & architecture definition and create value by advising of advanced potential issues that might affect projects duration, budget, feasibility, or a combination thereof (e.g., principles, feasibility, limits & constraints, performance, etc.).

Success Profile
Industrial Automation expert with strong ability to build optimized architectures fitting the needs of OEM customers (including channel partners such as MIs or POEMs) based on a broad technical knowledge of:

Automation market (local standards, understanding of Automation concepts/ challenges, SE competitors).

Automation technology (Hardware & software systems, EcoStruxureTM Machine solutions architecture).

Communication networks (principles, connectivity, limitations, performance).

Tested Validated and Documented Architectures (TVDAs).

Solid commercial attitude which allows the SAE:

Strong and open ability to communicate with ADE, PAE, SAE peers, and the global EcoStruxureTM Expert program management team.

Analytical skills: Can translate business requirements into an integrated automation solution and its recommended implementation.

Ability to customize the solution from a standard TVDA and integrate third-party components (control, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical) whenever required.

The candidate must have relevant experience in designing automation & control systems for OEM machinery.
Minimum to enter the position:

Worked in a technical engineering/application design or technical validation role.

Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in designing and/or problem solving relative to industrial automation.

Expertise in applicable regional standards and regulations.

Expertise in network communication (fieldbuses & Ethernet).

Working knowledge of Motion Control. Both asynchronous and synchronous, with a proven track record.

From the target OEM customer profile or channel partner from the targeted OEM application (e.g., packaging, pumping, hoisting, conveying, etc.).
