We are looking for a resourceful, full-stack web developer who can take a site from front to back and is excited to help us move quicker, ship more, and keep raising the bar for our clients.

About the Role

You will build and launch websites for our clients and for our own brands, handling whatever the work requires, front end or back end. The ideal person knows enough to be genuinely dangerous with AI tools: able to learn fast, solve almost anything, and build at a speed that used to take a whole team. Just as important, you will help us build the systems and processes that make development faster and better. We are not looking for someone who writes every line by hand; we are looking for someone who uses the best tools available, including AI, to do exceptional work in less time.

What You'll Do

• Build complete websites, front end and back end, for clients and for Metric's own brands.
• Use AI and modern tools to increase your speed of development and deployment.
• Help develop the internal systems and processes that take our web work to the next level.
• Turn designs into fast, responsive, well-built sites that work beautifully on every device.
• Keep sites secure, maintained, and running smoothly after launch.
• Find and adopt better tools and workflows, and bring the rest of the team along.

What We're Looking For

• Daily, hands-on use of AI tools in your development work; this is essential, not optional.
• Resourcefulness: you can figure things out, learn fast, and solve problems with whatever tools fit best.
• WordPress experience is required. Shopify is a strong plus, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a nice-to-have.
• Full-stack ability: comfortable working across whatever a site needs, front end or back end.
• A track record of building and launching real, working websites; share examples or a portfolio.
• An eye for quality: the sites you build are fast, responsive, secure, and a pleasure to use.
• A builder's mindset: you want to help create better systems, not just complete tickets.
• Reliability and self-direction: you manage your own time, hit deadlines, and communicate clearly.

Details

• Contract (1099) position
• Remote-friendly, with the flexibility to collaborate from our Saline / Ann Arbor area offices as needed.
• You provide your own equipment, tools, and software.
