AdaptiveVets Solutions is seeking a senior technical authority to lead DevSecOps practices, platform reliability engineering, and automated delivery pipeline operations for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

This role ensures secure, reliable, and efficient platform operations across a mission-critical AWS GovCloud Kubernetes environment supporting hundreds of VA applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical authority for all DevSecOps and SRE activities, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, platform reliability, and automated delivery.
• Lead implementation and operation of CI/CD pipelines, Terraform automation, container security scanning, and automated infrastructure management across Kubernetes/EKS environments.
• Oversee blue/green deployments, canary releases, automated scaling, and post-deployment production validation to ensure zero-disruption deployments.
• Ensure 100% of environment configuration is managed via approved IaC tooling (Terraform), with no unauthorized manual production changes.
• Enforce automated configuration drift detection at least weekly and ensure remediation of any production drift within 3 business days.
• Lead SRE operations including reliability engineering, observability frameworks, automated recovery, and performance capacity planning.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Technical Director and Monitoring and Incident Management Manager to align DevSecOps practices with platform stability objectives.
• Ensure all software supply chain, container images, and deployment artifacts adhere to Zero Trust and Federal security standards.
• Maintain IaC code review and approval cycle times within 3 business days for all infrastructure changes.
• Lead cross-training of DevSecOps and SRE personnel on platform infrastructure and dependencies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (6 additional years of relevant experience may substitute)
• 15+ years of experience providing technical leadership for DevSecOps and platform engineering for complex enterprise cloud systems
• Expert-level knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes/EKS orchestration, Terraform IaC, and containerized application delivery
• Demonstrated experience with cloud-native architectures, AWS GovCloud, and automated infrastructure management at scale
• Experience implementing Zero Trust DevSecOps architectures, container security scanning, and secure software supply chain practices
• Demonstrated experience in a SAFe environment supporting Federal Government programs
• Experience with Federal IT compliance standards including NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and VA TRM

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Istio service mesh, Consul, Vault, and advanced Kubernetes networking in production
• AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional or equivalent certification
• Experience with SRE practices including SLI/SLO/SLA definition and error budget management

Pay: $161,500.00 - $190,000.00 per year
