Senior Full Stack Engineer (Founding Team)
Full Time - Direct Hire

We’re hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join the founding team of a fast-growing AI startup building next-generation productivity and communication tools.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical challenges, moving quickly, and building scalable systems from the ground up. You’ll work directly with leadership to shape architecture, engineering standards, and product direction as the platform scales from early traction to mass adoption.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale highly reliable web applications and backend systems
• Lead technical architecture decisions across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
• Build systems that support rapid growth and high product reliability
• Improve application performance, observability, and developer workflows
• Own production issues end-to-end, including debugging, mitigation, and postmortems
• Collaborate closely with product and leadership teams to ship quickly and iteratively
• Help establish engineering best practices and technical standards

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience shipping production software
• Experience working at high-growth startups or scaling products with rapidly growing user bases
• Prior experience as an early engineering hire or contributor during a company’s growth phase
• Strong track record of owning production systems and infrastructure
• Experience building consumer or prosumer web applications, including mobile web experiences

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with:
• TypeScript
• React
• Next.js (App Router)
• Deep understanding of modern frontend architecture and performance optimization
• Experience handling mobile browser edge cases, especially iOS Safari

Backend & Infrastructure

• Strong PostgreSQL experience, including:
• query optimization
• schema migrations
• partitioning
• large-scale production databases
• Experience with asynchronous job and queue systems such as:
• SQS
• Temporal
• BullMQ
• Inngest
• or equivalent technologies

AI & Integrations

• Experience building AI-powered applications using OpenAI and/or Anthropic APIs
• Familiarity with:
• prompt optimization
• model routing
• batching
• latency and cost optimization
• Experience integrating third-party services and APIs

Reliability & Observability

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as:
• Sentry
• PostHog
• structured logging platforms
• Strong operational mindset and ability to proactively identify system issues

Nice to Have

• Experience in voice, transcription, or AI-native products
• Familiarity with real-time systems or audio processing
• Experience scaling systems during periods of rapid growth

Pay: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
