TAX MANAGER
ABOUT THE POSITION
Position Summary
Tax Managers should have well-developed leadership, interpersonal, technology, communication, and analytical skills. Tax Managers are expected to develop on both a personal and professional level during their tenure with the company.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review tax returns and the work of the accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and completeness & provide feedback to staff.
May include business entity and complex personal tax return preparation.
Manage workloads and delegate tax work to staff. Monitor tax deadlines to ensure preparedness.
Perform assessments and offer solutions to clients.
Oversee various project-based work.
Conduct research and planning then make recommendations to partners and clients.
Identify and recommend new business opportunities for the firm.
Business development and managing client relationships.
Assist partners with project-based work.
Act as a resource for interns and tax staff & establish good working relationships with all staff members.
WORKSITE LOCATION & CONDITIONS
This position is based in our Rochester or Buffalo office and may offer the flexibility to work remotely on an as-needed basis.
This is a full-time position, forty (40) hours per week, with additional hours as needed.
Additional hours required during tax season.
Travel to client locations may be required. Mileage is reimbursable at the IRS mileage rate.
COMPENSATION
Range of $85,000 - $125,000 annually; dependent upon experience and education.
ABOUT YOU
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the accounting field is required.
A CPA designation is preferred.
Knowledge of CCH Axcess software is preferred.
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft 365 and the ability to assimilate new programs.
Strong work ethic and team player.
High degree of professionalism and the ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
Strong interpersonal communication skills including verbal and written.
Desire to develop and build client relationships, provide a positive client experience and foster the overall growth of Allied CPAs P.C.
