Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
The Training Program Manager plays a critical role in ensuring successful adoption, utilization and optimization of eClinicalWorks and Athena electronic health records across the SCAH enterprise. This position is responsible for leading the strategy, development and execution of all EHR training initiatives, supporting both clinical and administrative users throughout the full system lifecycle – from onboarding and go-lives to upgrades and ongoing optimization.
This role serves as a bridge between technology, workflows and end users, translating complex system functionality into practical, role-based training that aligns with real-world clinical and operational needs. The training manager partners with providers, practice leadership, IT, and operational stakeholders to ensure training supports patient care, efficiency, regulatory compliance, and organizational performance.
Responsibility Description:
Training Strategy & Program Management

Develop and manage a comprehensive EHR training program for providers, clinical staff, and administrative users

Create role-based training curricula (providers, MAs, front office, billing, referrals, leadership)

Standardize onboarding and refresher training for new hires and existing staff

Assess training needs based on workflow changes, system upgrades, and performance gaps
Instructional Design & Content Development

Create and maintain training materials including job aids, workflows, tip sheets, videos, and quick-reference guides

Ensure training content aligns with EHR best practices, organizational workflows, and regulatory requirements

Maintain version control and update materials following system upgrades or optimizations
Training Delivery

Lead instructor-led training (virtual and in-person) for EHR users

Coordinate and support go-live and post-go-live training during implementations or major upgrades

Provide at-the-elbow support as needed during go-lives and optimization efforts
Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner with clinical leadership, operations, IT, and project managers during implementations and upgrades

Act as a liaison between end users and technical teams to identify training gaps and workflow issues

Collaborate with EHR vendor resources when appropriate
Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement

Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and system usage metrics

Identify trends in user errors or inefficiencies and proactively address through targeted training

Continuously improve training methods and materials based on user feedback and outcomes
Leadership & Oversight

Mentor and oversee trainers or super users, if applicable

Support the development of super user programs across departments

Ensure consistent training standards across all sites and teams
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience, years of experience in training on eClinicalWorks or Athena in a healthcare setting or a related role.

Proven experience in designing and delivering clinical and admin training programs.

Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design within EHR systems.

Strong understanding of ambulatory clinical workflows, revenue cycle and front-office operations.

Proven experience delivering training to diverse clinical and administrative audiences

Excellent communication, facilitation, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to assess and evaluate employee learning needs.

Proficient in learning management systems (LMS) and other training tools/software, UKG preferred.

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to learn and adapt in a changing and fast-paced environment.

Experience using ServiceNow, ZenDesk, Jira, or equivalent ticketing systems, preferred.
