Happy Pup Manor is a Chicagoland’s premier home-based boarding and training facility. We are located in Grayslake, IL. We are looking for a groomer to provide grooming and nail trims to our pup guests for 25-40 hours per week. Please not apply if you can’t already groom

Job Description

This role is on a part time basis, and will vary with demand for grooming from our guests. Typical grooming days will require flexible and weekends. We have some flexibility on timing to fit with your schedule, but are looking for a regular commitment to ensure the safety of all the pups and consistency in what we deliver to clients. Historically we have had bookings for 25-40 hours of grooming per week, our expectation is that with consistent good work we will be at the higher end of that range.

Duties include:

Maintain an upbeat and calm attitude

Calm an anxious dog

Nail trims for dog

Ensure company policies are being followed

Shampoo and wash a dog's hair or fur

Fluff Dry hair/fur

Create a welcoming environment for dogs

Cut or shave a dog's hair or fur as needed

Special requests as made by owners or management

We are happy to provide the following for grooming at no expense to the groomer:

• Dirty Dog shampoo with a Sullivan supply mini soap foamer and 1:8 Iv San Bernard conditioner dematting spray
• Shor-line grooming tub and table with a groomers helper
• K-9 II Hot Blower-Dyer with variable speed

We are also providing the logistics associated with the pups staying with us:

• Setting appointments
• Quoting prices to customers (with your input on pricing by breed and dog size)
• Collecting fees

Groomer is asked to bring their own grooming equipment such as clippers, shears, brushes, and combs. We also ask that you clean up the work area after a grooming session.

Compensation

We will split fees between the house and the groomer 50/50 – typically this has paid the groomer $500+ per week depending on client volumes.

The ideal candidate should:

· Have 3 years of proven prior experience in dog grooming. Show experience is a strong plus

· US citizen or legally authorized to work in the US

· Able to pass a background and motor vehicle check

· Be able to lift 100-pound pups if needed

· Be able to team effectively with Kennel and Training staff

· Provide a very calming presence to sooth anxious pups

Be comfortable grooming doodles, as most of our clients are doodles.

Be able to submit photos of prior clients

Own their own grooming clippers and shears

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
