Plumbing Design Engineer — Premier Plumbing Company

Premier Plumbing Company builds plumbing systems for new construction projects across Southern California — single-family homes, multi-family communities, and light commercial work. As our project pipeline grows, we're adding a design engineer who can turn building plans into accurate, buildable plumbing drawings our field crews can execute with confidence.

This role suits someone who thrives on precision, keeps calm when deadlines tighten, and knows how to translate code requirements into practical field solutions. You'll work closely with foremen and office staff, so clear communication matters as much as technical skill.

What You'll Be Doing

• Translate building plans and scopes of work into code-compliant plumbing system designs.
• Produce isometric drawings and layouts covering drain/waste/vent, water supply, and gas systems.
• Assemble complete drawing packages ready for field crews to work off.
• Meet with foremen on-site to walk through designs and make field-driven adjustments.
• Keep field teams informed as drawings get revised.
• Set up and organize job files within our internal network.
• Track spec changes throughout a project's lifecycle and keep documentation current
• Interpret and cross-check CAD files supplied by builders and architects.
• Build material lists for each plan design.
• Apply relevant building codes, local jurisdictions, and site constraints to design.
• Work closely with upper management and be able to take direction or make adjustments to plan designs as suggested.

What You Bring

• 4+ years working in AutoCAD
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with plumbing systems
• Solid grasp of California & Arizona plumbing codes and industry standards
• Flexibility to put in extra hours when a project calls for it

Compensation & Benefits

• $30.00–$42.00 per hour
