GENERAL PURPOSE – SPD EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. The primary purpose of a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, disinfect and/or sterilize surgical instruments, trays and packs, reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures. The Sterile Processing Technician understands microbiology and infection control standards. We are willing to do on the job training for the right candidate. Candidate needs to pass criminal background check and drug screen.

HOURS: CASUAL PART TIME VARIABLE POSITION. Rotating weekends and call required. Shift differential pay.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• SPD EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Knowledge of surgical equipment
• Knowledge and operation of sterile processing equipment (washers, ultrasonic, and sterilizers)
• Documents and maintain accurate legal sterilizations records
• Knowledge of proper steps required to clean contaminated patient care equipment
• Inspect, assemble, and test instrumentation for proper functioning
• Perform simple maintenance on equipment (i.e. Clean filters and drains)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Physical demand: turning, bending, squatting, kneeling, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and standing (80-90% of the day).
• Certification required within a year of hire
• Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members
• Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner
• Basic computer knowledge including but not limited Microsoft office and basic internet navigation
• Ability to take call and work varied shifts and rotating weekends

Job Type: Part-time

Base Pay: $21.07 - $37.00 per hour
