Responsibilities

• Perform thorough decontamination of used dental instruments using appropriate sterilization techniques and medical equipment sterilization protocols
• Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, autoclaves, and other medical equipment with precision and adherence to safety standards
• Manage inventory of sterilized instruments and supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and timely reordering when necessary
• Follow strict infection prevention management procedures to prevent cross-contamination and maintain aseptic conditions
• Document sterilization cycles, maintenance logs, and inventory records accurately for compliance purposes
• Assist with the setup of dental operatories by organizing sterile instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures
• Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to identify appropriate sterilization methods for different types of dental tools

Qualifications

• Proven experience in sterile processing or medical equipment sterilization within a healthcare setting
• Strong understanding of infection prevention management and healthcare infection control standards
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to dental procedures
• Familiarity with dental or medical equipment operation and maintenance
• Ability to follow detailed protocols with precision while maintaining high attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills for inventory management and record keeping
• Dental Assisting Certification is mandatory
