Position Overview
As a Home Staging & Installation Assistant, you will be the backbone of our project execution. This role is a dynamic mix of logistics, procurement coordination, and hands-on styling. You will assist our lead and principal designers in receiving, packing, and organizing inventory, tracking orders, and setting up gorgeous model homes.
Whether you are an experienced home stager looking for opportunities in design and with a growing company, or a driven Interior Design student eager for hands-on, real-world industry experience, this contract role offers direct exposure to the luxury design and builder markets.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory, Logistics & Installation Support:
- Receive & Prep: Assist in receiving, unboxing, inspecting, and meticulously packing furniture, art, and decor items for upcoming design projects.
- On-Site Execution: Work closely under the guidance of lead and principal designers during installation days to place furniture, hang art, style accessories, and ensure the final look meets our high standards.
- Physical Demands: Comfortably lift, move, and handle heavy decor items, rugs, and artwork during prep and installations.
Procurement, Sourcing & Admin:
- Order Tracking: Assist the team in sourcing furniture, decor, and art. Create Purchase Orders (POs), track shipments accurately, and proactively manage delivery timelines to meet strict project deadlines.
- Vendor Relations: Open and manage vendor trade accounts; communicate professionally with suppliers regarding order statuses or damages.
- Scheduling Coordination: Help schedule and coordinate third-party partners, including trades, professional movers, and installation teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tracking sheets, POs, and moving parts without breaking a sweat.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in basic administrative software (such as Excel, Google Workspace, or project management tools) and quick to learn design-specific platforms.
- Exceptional Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with designers, vendors, and contractors.
- Coachability: Ability to take direction well, execute tasks efficiently, and maintain high standards under the guidance of lead designers.
- Attitude & Drive: A highly self-motivated, positive, and solution-oriented mindset. We value a "can-do" attitude and team players who thrive under tight project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications (Great to Have!)
- Previous experience in professional organization or inventory management is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in Home Staging or visual merchandising.
- Background or current enrollment in an Interior Design program (Students are highly encouraged to apply!).
- Basic knowledge of design principles, scale, space planning, and color theory.
- Familiarity with project management tools or methodologies.
