About the Role:

GCOO is looking for a hands-on, dependable Operations Manager to lead our local micromobility fleet (500–1,000 devices) across Alexandria and Arlington County. Operating from our base in Springfield, VA, you will be fully responsible for daily fleet health, device deployment, and local team management.

You’ll split your time between strategic planning, team oversight, and active field operations across our local markets. If you enjoy leading from the front, solving day-to-day logistics problems, and building a reliable team, this is the right opportunity for you.

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.

Key Responsibilities1. Fleet Management & Maintenance

• Device Quality & Uptime: Keep the fleet safe, clean, fully charged, and ready for riders throughout Alexandria and Arlington County.
• Field Logistics: Oversee battery swapping, device repairs, and retrieving damaged or lost scooters across service zones.
• Problem Solving: Track down misplaced or malfunctioning devices and resolve operational issues quickly.

2. Regional Deployment & City Compliance

• Strategic Placement: Ensure scooters are positioned in high-demand areas across target markets to maximize usage.
• Local Rules: Enforce strict compliance with municipal parking regulations and safety guidelines in both Alexandria and Arlington County.

3. Team Leadership & HR

• Hiring & Onboarding: Recruit, interview, hire, and train local field technicians and operators.
• Scheduling: Build daily work schedules and manage shift coverage across the team.
• Performance & Discipline: Provide regular feedback, handle performance issues, and manage employee relations according to company policy.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of management, logistics, or field operations experience (Micromobility experience is a plus).
• Age Requirement: 25 years of age or older (Required for company vehicle insurance).
• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (Required).
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 65 pounds repeatedly.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using smartphones, GPS mapping, and workforce management apps.
• Leadership: Strong communication skills and a hands-on, accountable attitude.

Compensation & Benefits

Schedule & Work Environment

• Base Location: In-person (Springfield, VA 22153), with regular field travel across Alexandria and Arlington County.
• Schedule: Full-time; must be flexible to work varied shifts including weekends or evenings as needed.
