LJP Waste Solutions is seeking a full-time Swing Driver.
Swing Drivers are responsible for completing both Semi and Roll-Off routes on an as-needed basis. Trucks and assignments may change daily based on operational demands. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to safely operate commercial vehicles while supporting transportation, hauling, and container delivery operations.
Semi Tractor Drivers transport trailers from customer locations to receiving areas or disposal sites while maintaining compliance with all CDL laws and safety regulations.
Perform assigned Roll-Off and Semi route duties safely and efficiently
Operate compactors, containers, trailers, and commercial hauling equipment
Follow electronic tablet instructions and dispatch work orders accurately
Learn company routes, operational procedures, and equipment functions
Train new drivers on routes and operational expectations as needed
Perform routine truck inspections and basic preventative maintenance
Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Safely navigate congested, confined, or tight city and suburban routes
Maintain professional communication with customers, dispatch, and team members
Comply with all company policies and federal, state, and local transportation regulations
Adapt to varying start times and scheduling needs based on fleet availability
Perform physically demanding work including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and mounting/dismounting trucks throughout the shift
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Class A CDL required
Manual transmission endorsement preferred
Valid DOT Medical Card
Ability to pass criminal background checks and drug screening
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and at least 21 years of age
Ability to speak and read English sufficiently to communicate with the public, understand traffic signals, and respond to official questions
Legible handwriting for completion of inspections and operational paperwork
Strong backing and maneuvering skills in confined areas
Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, and dry weather conditions
Previous Roll-Off, Semi, or waste industry driving experience
Experience training or mentoring drivers
Knowledge of commercial hauling operations and route logistics
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds regularly
Ability to repeatedly mount and dismount heavy-duty trucks throughout the shift
Ability to perform bending, pushing, pulling, and physically strenuous activities daily
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions
