Duties

• Safely operate flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, and other commercial vehicles on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Load, secure, unload, and inspect freight including freight with hazardous materials or dangerous goods, ensuring proper manual handling and truck loading/unloading procedures.
• Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules while maintaining awareness of road conditions and traffic patterns.
• Transport specialized cargo such as refrigerated trailers, tanker loads, automobile transportation units, or other logistics cargo handling needs.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues; report any concerns promptly.
• Load and unload freight using equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary; handle hazardous materials following hazardous materials regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations; communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on flatbed or tractor-trailer operations.
• Knowledge of route driving best practices, including GPS navigation and route planning for efficiency.
• Familiarity with trucking equipment such as flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and refrigerated trailers.
• Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT compliance, and safety protocols for dangerous goods.
• Ability to manually handle cargo safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts or manual handling techniques.
• Experience with delivery driving across diverse routes including over-the-road (OTR), local deliveries, or specialized transportation like automobile or hazardous material transport.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean record; proficiency in manual transmission vehicles is preferred but not required.

Pay: $1,600.00 - $2,200.00 per week
