Engineer I, MST Test
The MST Test Engineer will serve as the primary contact for all MST (OEM) customers on the Functional Test, Burn-in Test, Automated Label and Battery Charge Systems. They will work closely with customer test engineering teams to ensure that the test systems are designed to meet all factory standards and requirements. They will foster future business opportunities by demonstrating MSEI technical expertise.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with MST customers during development stages to ensure that the functional test systems being designed for MSEI use are compatible with factory standards.
- Review and improve the ~68 already deployed test systems for product safety and operator efficiency.
- Develop new software tools for better integration between customer-owned test systems and MES.
- Lead the development of new MST-focused Test System and Test Handling System capabilities to offer solutions to potential customers.
- Manage the completion and release of all Functional Test documentation and records.
- Coordinate the workflow and MES configuration of each MST product around the Functional Test, Burn-In-Test, Module Battery Charge and (automated) 2D Label Application steps.
- Attend all weekly meetings to maintain up-to-date statuses on each project and to provide ready test-related support.
- Software support for a robot-actuated 2D label application system.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical test systems.
- Knowledge of measurement and monitoring devices.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues using a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Basic knowledge of test and product handling systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Experience using C# or other comparable programming languages.
- Strong critical thinking skills required.
- Able to describe and accurately communicate problems or issues both internally and to external customers.
- Able to identify and independently make important decisions regarding escalation or troubleshooting issues.
- Able to work with others and provide training as needed.
- Able to work independently, even if no specific direction has been provided.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Lead peer groups and assist cross-functional projects and teams.
