- Diagnose complex mechanical issues affecting mission-critical cooling systems while minimizing operational risk.
- Support commissioning, startup, integrated systems testing (IST), and turnover of new mechanical infrastructure.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, sequence of operations, and control strategies for mechanical systems.
- Evaluate cooling capacity, airflow management, redundancy, and system resiliency.
- Collaborate with facility operations, commissioning agents, controls engineers, electrical engineers, construction managers, and equipment manufacturers.
- Develop engineering recommendations for equipment upgrades, lifecycle replacement, and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Support emergency response efforts during critical mechanical system events.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA), failure investigations, and corrective action development.
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards, industry best practices, client requirements, and applicable mechanical codes.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across project teams.
