Position Summary
Iron Grid Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Load Bank Technician to support the testing and commissioning of mission-critical power and cooling infrastructure throughout North America. The Load Bank Technician is responsible for installing, operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and dismantling resistive and liquid-cooled load bank systems used during data center commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and electrical acceptance testing.
This position requires extensive travel, strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesField Operations
- Install, connect, operate, monitor, and remove load bank equipment at customer sites.
- Perform commissioning support for:
- Data Centers
- Mission Critical Facilities
- Utility Projects
- Industrial Facilities
- Renewable Energy Projects
- Read and interpret one-line diagrams, electrical drawings, and project documentation.
- Connect temporary power cabling, Cam-Lok cable, and cooling hoses.
- Monitor electrical loads, temperatures, coolant flow, pressures, and system performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in the field.
- Complete startup, testing, and shutdown procedures safely.
Equipment Maintenance
- Inspect equipment before and after each rental.
- Perform preventative maintenance on:
- Load banks
- Pumps
- Heat exchangers
- Cooling systems
- Electrical panels
- Transformers
- Cabling
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures.
- Maintain service records and inspection reports.
- Assist in preparing equipment for shipment and mobilization.
Safety
- Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety procedures.
- Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) before work begins.
- Utilize Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Wear required PPE.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Customer Service
- Represent Iron Grid Solutions professionally on every project.
- Communicate effectively with commissioning agents, contractors, owners, and project managers.
- Provide daily status updates and field reports.
- Assist customers with operational questions during testing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of electrical, mechanical, generator, rental equipment, commissioning, or industrial maintenance experience
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- Comfortable working outdoors and in active construction environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with load banks
- Experience in mission critical or data center commissioning
- Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems (208V–15kV)
- Familiarity with generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, or chillers
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- NFPA 70E training
- Forklift certification
- CDL (preferred but not required)

- Ability to safely work around energized electrical equipment
Travel
- Some overnight travel
- Occasional international travel may be required
- Company vehicle, travel expenses, lodging, and per diem provided when applicable

Pay: $25.48 - $30.68 per hour
